Stompin' Dave & Lucy Piper

A new collaboration sees Bridport vocalist and instrumentalist Stompin' Dave joined by Exeter session drummer Lucy Piper.

"In other parts of the world they have cyclones, tornadoes and hurricanes, in the UK we have Stompin' Dave" Blues In The South. 

Bridport based Stompin' Dave has worked exclusively as a musician performing across the UK and beyond. He has released over thirty albums and made well over two hundred festival appearances, including some major ones such as Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, and Bestival.

A former member of former UK Blues Band of the Year, The Producers. Dave was nominated for a British Blues Award in 2014.

Lucy is a former member of the the band Junkyard Angels, fronted by Julian Piper "One of the UK's foremost champions of African American blues" The Guardian. The band were often the backing band for touring blues musicians from the USA, and toured extensively across the UK and Europe.

Over the past few years Lucy has spent many nights performing in Mississippi, USA 'Juke Joints' alongside many top musicians, including the multi Blues Music Award nominee Watermelon Slim, and Robert Kimbrough Senior, son of one of the all time greats of hill country blues, Junior Kimbrough.

In 2019 and 2020 Lucy worked with double Grammy Award winning label Ruf Records on their annual 'Blues Caravan'. As well as appearing on Ryan Perry's album High Risk, Low Reward which was nominated for a Blues Music Award 2020. (Universally recognized as the highest award in blues music.)

In the UK Lucy currently performs with a plethora of different artists. She has recently appeared with many great performers including Adam Sweet, Ben Waters, Liam Ward and Sons Of The Delta.

Lucy described by The Guardian as "one of the UK's leading blues drummers" this spring Lucy toured across the UK with folk duo Sounds of the Sirens.  

Recently Dave and Lucy recorded an album Nothing But Trouble featuring eleven original Stompin' Dave songs.
